Practical Analog Dual Bander with Optional Bluetooth Headset - With the Icom Dual Band Transceiver IC-2730A, analog has never been easier. The Icom IC-2730A Dual Band Transceiver is a simple to use dual band mobile with simultaneous receive and 50 Watts RF output on both VHF and UHF bands. The distinct tuning, volume, and squelch knobs on either side of the radio, as well as basic control buttons, enabling you to control your radio quickly and precisely without taking your eyes off the road.
VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF Simultaneous Receive - The IC-2730A can receive VHF/VHF, UHF/UHF, and VHF/UHF simultaneously, as well as VHF/UHF. Each band has symmetrically laid out main dials, volume, squelch knobs, and primitive buttons. With three programmable buttons and a PTT button, the optional VS-3 Bluetooth headset can wirelessly manage the IC-2730A. It also allows for hands-free conversation via VOX. (The UT-133 Bluetooth® unit, which is optional, must be installed in the IC-2730A.)
Easy Visibility - The IC-2730A's display is 1.5 times larger than its predecessor, the IC-2720H. The frequency display and channel names have been increased in size, and the white backlight provides better contrast. The MBA-5 controller bracket and optional MBF-1 suction cup mounting base allow for simple tilt and swivel adjustments. The huge suction cup may be readily attached to flat surfaces and removed.
On both VHF and UHF bands, the IC-2730A uses a sturdy PA module to deliver 50 watts of high power. For quiet stand-by and repeater access, the CTCSS and DTCS tones are built-in. On a per-channel basis, the split tone function allows you to define CTCSS/DTCS tones independently for repeater uplink and downlink.
The controller can be mounted to the main unit using the optional MBA-4 combination bracket. Both the controller and the main unit have microphone connectors. 118–174 and 375–550MHz are covered by the IC-2730A. Aviation, maritime, weather, and other utility communications will be available to listen to.
